Scuba diving in MUSA Cancun is a bucket list dive for many divers, attracting divers from around the world.

The Cancun Underwater Museum has a total of 500 sculptures, 487 by Jason deCaires Taylor, and the rest by five Mexican artists. The Manchones Gallery by Isla Mujeres contains 477 statues, and the remaining 23 are in the Nizuc Gallery.

What is the Cancun Underwater Museum – MUSA?

The Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA), one of the most successful conservation projects in the world, MUSA has quickly become one of Cancun´s top attractions.

The project was launched in 2009, had the goal to create an artificial reef, and help the marine life restoration in the Cancun and Isla Mujeres area.

MUSA scuba diving will make your Cancun scuba vacation one of a kind. You can see the positive effects of this multilateral effort since some of the first parts of the Museum have already been overrun by reef formations and distorting some of the original pieces.

These new reefs are now home to a variety of marine wildlife, you will be able to dive with all kind of reef fish and enjoy this pleasant experience.
